Тримання Надїї

Holding On To Hope

In 2023, American nonprofit Artists Sans Frontières returned to Eastern Europe to continue providing dance, music, and theatrical workshops, classes, performances, and performance opportunities to refugees and displaced families and children impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. To commemorate 3+ months of consecutive programming, Team ASF created Фестиваль надії Celebration of Hope Concert (Ukrainian translation: Festival of Hope) to spread light and love to the refugee residents of humanitarian aid center Centrum Pomocy Humanitarnej Modlinska in Warsaw, Poland. Тримання Надїї (Holding On To Hope) was inspired by the strength and resilience of CPH Modlinska's residents, the recipients of ASF's longest-running, ongoing humanitarian outreach. The work brought together international guest performers from Belgium, Belarus, Hungary, South Africa, Ukraine, and USA to collectively articulate the topic of and struggle to maintain hope. Through the mediums of contemporary dance, physical theatre, and comedic pantomime, Тримання Надїї sits as the basis of exploration for a larger work in progress, currently in research and development as ASF's first full-length, evening work.
